Calendar girls' big ball date

Friends are rallying round to help a car crash victim and his family with a charity calendar and black tie ball.

The charity ball at the Holiday Inn, Clifton, and calendar have been organised by Emily Hanson to help friend Paul Turnbull who was involved in a car accident in 2015 on Saddleworth Road.

“He was being treated at Salford Royal Hospital but now he has been transferred to a specialist rehabilitation centre where he is getting rehab every day,” said Emily from Hove Edge.

“His friends did a male calendar so we thought we would do one this time and try to raise more money.

“It was a bit cold doing some of the pictures but it was a great laugh.

“We’ve had lots of help and donations which has helped us put on the charity ball this year so we are hoping it is successful again”

The sold out event will be held on November 18 where 165 guests are expected to attend.

There will be a fund raising raffle and an Abba tribute band performing. A client at Emily’s mum salon has given a Manchester United dug out chair that they provide for the club to auction off.

A charity bag pak was also carried out at the Sainsburys store in April this year.

Last year the charity ball raised £5000 towards Paul and his family. The 26-year-old was flown to a specialist department at Salford Hospital by Yorkshire Air Ambulance due to him suffer life changing injuries.
