Car fire in Halifax

Firefighters were called to a car fire in Halifax town centre last night (Thursday).

A Peugeot 407 had caught fire travelling into the town on New Bank from Stump Cross at around 10.30pm.

Neil Pilling, watch commander at Halifax Fire Station, said two men and two women had got out of the car by the time firefighters arrived.

He said nobody was injured in the incident but the car had suffered “extensive damage” in the blaze.
