Council’s parking policy to be reviewed

Calderdale Council chiefs will review their traffic and parking policy at a cabinet meeting on Monday.

It has been recommended that an additional £90,000 should be allocated to speed up the delivery of traffic and parking schemes in the district. This would include £40,000 to address the current backlog of traffic and parking schemes which have not been dealt with, and a further £50,000 for consultation and implementing schemes.

The council has proposed that the borough should be divided into nine different areas for the purpose of traffic and parking: town centre; outer town centre; Sowerby Bridge; Elland; Brighouse; Todmorden; Hebden Bridge; Boothtown, Mixenden, Illingworth and Ovenden; Shelf, Northowram and Hipperholme.
