Crime prevention roadshow to help businesses become more resilient

West Yorkshire Police and the Business Crime Reduction Centre (BCRC) will host a crime prevention roadshow to demonstrate how businesses can be more vigilant against crime.

The roadshow will tour around Yorkshire, stopping in the Lowfields Business Park, in Elland, on September 2.

Businesses will be given impartial security advice from their local Police Community Support officer and a business crime specialist will warn people about the latest crimes affecting businesses in the area, including fraud and cybercrime.

BCRC’s West Yorkshire team leader, Carl Lovett, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for the business community in West Yorkshire to learn about the best techniques to protect their business against crime.
“It also gives people the chance to ask the questions which are important to them and have them answered by an expert in business crime. Prevention is always better than cure for many types of crime and BCRC aims to promote this mind set across the business community.”

As well as Brighouse, the roadshow will begin at Bridge Mills, Huddersfield on August 27 and will be followed by Whitwood Enterprise Park, in Castleford, on September 1.

Admission is free and further information can be found at www.bcrc-uk.org/events.
