Career criminal raided Halifax homes only months after prison release

A career criminal has been jailed after numerous house burglaries and theft of motor vehicles.

Philip Brindley committed night time offences, in April this year, in the Luddenden Foot area of Halifax only months after his prison release for similar offences.

Brindley who has connections to Todmorden was tracked down by Calderdale officers to an address in Greater Manchester.

He was sentenced to six years and four months imprisonment when he appeared at Bradford Crown Court.

Detective Inspector Gary Stephenson from Calderdale CID said after the sentencing, ‘Some people don’t learn. The message is clear. If you break into people’s houses, the chances are we will proactively hunt you down and you will go to prison.’

"I would like to thank the members of the local community in the Luddenden area, who weren’t necessarily the victims of crime but went out of their way, to check their home security and assist in the identification of Brindley.
