Dog walker needed facial surgery after Brighouse cemetery attack

Police officers are appealing for information after a dog walker was injured in an attack in Brighouse.

It happened at about 7.35pm on Sunday, December 13 in the cemetery in Lightcliffe Road.

The dog walker, a 53-year-old man, was struck from behind, causing him to suffer a facial injury which required surgery.

The suspects are believed to have had a black dog with them, which was not on a lead.

Detectives from Calderdale CID are investigating the incident and believe there were a number of other people in the cemetery at the time, who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the attack or who may have information about who was responsible is asked to contact the team on 101, or by using the options on the West Yorkshire Police website.
