Halifax police officers tackling suspected drug dealing hotspots

Halifax police officers are stepping up patrols in their fight against suspected drug dealing.

The Halifax Neighbourhood Policing Team said it has seen an increase in reports of drug dealing including locations and vehicles being used.

As part of Operation Hindmen officers have located suspected vehicles.

Due to the information given to the police, the occupants and vehicles have been searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

In addition, officers have been conducting pro-active patrols in locations highlighted as hotspots for drug dealing from information supplied by members of the public as well as police intelligence.

A number of vehicles linked to drug supply were stopped. From these 12 searches were carried out on the people and vehicles.

A spokesperson for the NPT said: "We will continue to target those who are involved in the supply of drugs at all levels and appreciate the assistance of the public in their involvement in attacking criminality in their local area."
