Halifax security guard attacked and racially abused by suspected thief

The incident happened outside the Wilko's store in Halifax town centre at around 16.50pm on Friday March 12.

A security guard attempted to detain a man, who was suspected of stealing from the store.

The suspect assaulted the security guard and shouted racial abuse before leaving the area on foot.

A 38-year old man has been arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information which may assist in enquiries to contact 101 or online via www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101LiveChat quoting crime reference number 13210125495.
