Halifax teenager murder investigation: Everything we know so far

Police in Calderdale continue to investigate the murder of a teenager in Halifax that took place on Saturday night.

A police cordon was in place this morning as detectives issued an update on the investigation into the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Jamie Brown.

What was reported to police?

West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) has said the incident took place in East Park Road, Ovenden, shortly before 9.30pm. A report was made that a male had been stabbed.

Officers attended and found two males with stab wounds and a third with a head injury.

Police later confirmed that one of the teenagers, later confirmed as Jamie Brown, sadly died a short time later.

The injuries to the other two males are not believed to be life threatening and both are said to be in a stable condition.

Three 17-year-old males who were arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday night remain in custody. Officers are seeking warrants of further detention today

Detectives arrested a further three males - aged 16,16 and 14 - on suspicion of murder overnight in connection with the incident in which Mr Brown received fatal stab wounds.

Detectives say enquiries are continuing into Saturday night’s fatal stabbing.
