“Both groups then moved through the subway onto platform one. A fight then broke out between six members of the two groups at the top of the stairs on platform one, resulting in a 66-year-old man from Hebden Bridge being assaulted.

“The man lost consciousness for a short period of time and was conveyed to hospital where he underwent treatment for minor head injuries, including a cut to his ear and bruising to his face.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible and, today, I am releasing CCTV images of five men I’d like to identify and speak to as I believe they will have key information which can assist the inquiry. We have information to suggest that the men may be from the Lancashire area.

“If you know their identity or whereabouts, please call BTP straight away.”
