A man suffered serious head injuries after allegedly being glassed outside a Todmorden pub.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the attack on the 19-year-old outside the Golden Lion, Fielden Square, between 12.30am and 1am on Saturday (May 9).

A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the assault and has since been released on bail.

Detective Constable Graham Bennett, from Calderdale CID, said: “A 19-year-old man required hospital treatment after sustaining serious injuries to his head, which we believe was caused after he was struck in the face with a glass.

“I am appealing for anyone witnesses to the incident to come forward and contact police. The information they hold could be vital to the investigation.”
