Police appeal: 81-year-old seriously injured after mobility scooter struck by car in Leeds

Police are appealing for information after an 81-year-old man was seriously injured after the mobility scooter he was travelling on was struck by a car on Domestic Street in the Holbeck area of Leeds this morning (Thursday).

Police Sergeant Carl Quinn, from West Yorkshire Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “The incident occurred around 11.13 this morning (17/7) near to the junction with Ingram View when a red coloured Vauxhall Corsa struck the mobility scooter.

“The injured man was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious injuries where he remains in a serious condition.”

Any witnesses to the incident or anyone seeing the manner of driving of both vehicles prior to the collision is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team via: 101 and quoting log 524 of the 17 July 2014.
