Police appeal: Man dies in fatal car crash in Leeds

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Leeds in the early hours of Saturday morning (April 19).

The Major Collision and Enquiry Team would like to speak to anyone who has information about the incident which took place at about 4am on the westbound A58M Inner Ring Road just prior to the Wellington Street exit.

It took place after a blue Vauxhall Corsa collided with the boundary wall while heading towards the Armley Gyratory.

A 24-year-old man from the Leeds area who was in the car died of his injuries.

A 23-year-old man, who was also in the car, suffered serious injuries. He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he is in a stable condition.

PC Wayne Mason, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this incident and anyone who saw the collision or the car just prior to it should contact myself at the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101.”
