Police issue appeal after pub assault in Huddersfield

Police have issued a witness appeal after a man was assaulted in a Huddersfield pub.

Police have released an image (above) of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an unprovoked assault, which happened on January 18.

Huddersfield CID would like to speak to the man pictured in the long sleeved grey top or anyone who can help identify him following the incident which took place at about 11.50pm inside the Lord Wilson pub on King Street.

The incident happened after the victim, a 24 year-old man, was approached by another male (who had just entered the pub) and punched him in the face, causing facial injuries.

The suspect, who left the pub with another male, is described as a white male, approximately 24-25 years of age, six foot two in height with hair which was spikey on top.

PC 2784 Rachel Jenkinson of Huddersfield CID, said: “We are treating this as an unprovoked assault and would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or can help identify the man pictured wearing a grey long sleeved top.

“Anyone who has information should contact myself at Huddersfield CID on 101 or CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
