Robbery in Leeds was a close shave

Police in Leeds are appealing for information following an attempted robbery at a hairdressers in Rothwell.

Leeds District CID would like to speak to anyone who witnessed or has information about the incident which took place at about 1.40pm at a hairdressers at the junction of Butcher Lane and Carlton Lane, Rothwell on Friday, February 7.

It occurred after a man entered the business and demanded cash. He was bundled out empty handed by staff however who then closed the door on him. The man then fled back along Carlton Lane in the same direction he had come from.

The suspect was described as a man, of mixed race and 5ft 8 to 6ft tall, slim build and was wearing a black jacket, light coloured bottoms and was carrying a bright yellow drawstring carrier bag.

DC 4157 Debbie Farley of Leeds District CID, said: “ We are investigating this incident and anyone who saw a man fitting this description entering or fleeing the premises is asked to contact myself on 101. Information can also be passed anonymously to CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.”
