Speeding and dangerous drivers caught during operation in Queens Road area

A number of drivers were hit with fines during a police operation in Halifax

As a result of complaints by the community in the Queens Road area, Operation Hawmill was deployed.

During patrols 19 fixed penalty tickets were issued.- 12 of these were for people not wearing seatbelts.

One driver was issued with a summons for court for driving at 51mph in a 30mph zone.

Operation Hawmill is funded by the Calderdale Community Safety Partnership.

It focuses on areas of community concern and the fatal four, speeding, driving above the drink or drug limit, using a phone while driving and driving without a seatbelt.
