Suspicious incident at high school in Harrogate

CCTV images have been released of man after a suspicious incident at a high school in Harrogate on Tuesday 30 September.

The man entered St Aidan’s High School on Oatlands Drive at around 10.15am and refused to leave when he was asked to do so by a member of staff.

He did not approach or speak to any of the pupils at the school and was escorted from the property a short time later,

Harrogate police are appealing for the man to come forward and describe him as a white man, aged around 30 with light brown hair and a chubby face.

At the time he was wearing a blue shirt and jeans and carrying a black holdall.

PC Andy Hanson, of Harrogate Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “There may be a perfectly innocent reason that the man entered the school. If this is the case, I urge him to get in touch straight away, so that I can clear the issue up.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who recognises the man and ask them to get in touch as soon as possible.”
