Thieves hit convenience store
Substantial damage was also caused during the break-in at the Co-operative Food store in Mytholmroyd at 1.15am yesterday (Thursday).
Police deployed their helicopter to trace a dark coloured saloon car, believed to have been used in the break-in, but they failed to find it. Police were studying CCTV images of the incident yesterday.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Hide AdThe store on Burnley Road was closed until 9am yesterday, whilst police carried out their investigations.
A spokesperson for the store said: “Intruders broke into our store in Burnley Road, Mytholmroyd, in the early hours of Thursday, 14 August. They caused considerable damage, and stole a large quantity of cigarettes.
“The store was closed at the time but CCTV footage has been given to the police, who are investigating. The store remained closed, as part of their investigation, and re-opened at around 9am. We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience this may have caused.
“As with any incident such as this, we would appeal for anyone with information to come forward.”
