West Yorkshire taxi driver who dealt drugs from car jailed

A taxi driver of nearly four years has been jailed - after being caught with a stash of more than £10,000 of sleeping pills.

Iftiqar Ali, 52, had been a licensed taxi driver since 2017.

He was caught with a £10,570 stash of the Class C sleeping pill type drugs, Bradford Crown Court heard on Friday.

Ali had Diazapam tablets in his hand after he was stopped by the police on Shay Lane in Halifax on February 28 last year.

A search of his home turned up a stash of over 10,000 tablets consisting of Diazapam, Etizolam and Tamazepam.

He was jailed for 21 months.
