Witness appeal after stabbing in Huddersfield

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in the stomach in Huddersfield.

Huddersfield CID would like to speak to anyone who has information about the incident which took place between 2.50pm and 3.05pm on Brown Royd Avenue, Dalton, Huddersfield on Thursday, March 13.

Three males have confronted the victim’s friend who was stood waiting for the victim. There was a fourth suspect stood on the opposite side of the road. As the victim has approached there has been a short argument during which the fourth male has produced a knife and attacked the victim, creating a small wound on his stomach.

The 20-year-old victim then fled and was later treated in hospital for the injury, before being discharged.

The male with the knife is described as either a light-skinned black male or mixed race, around 15 to 16-years-old, short, skinny with short, cropped black hair.

The other suspects were described as black, with two believed to be 16 or under and skinny.

Dc Craig Foulkes of Huddersfield CID, said: “This was an unusal incident in which it was fortunate the victim was not more seriously injured. We are currently investigating to see what the motive may be behind this attack and would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or can help identify the suspects.”
