Detective Sergeant Carole Greaves, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision itself, the manner of driving of the Citroen C5 immediately prior to this collision or the route and manner that the bicycle was being ridden. Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Collision Enquiry Team via 101.”

The crash left the busy route between Brighouse and Elland closed for several hours while emergency services and accident investigators dealt with the incident.
