"Because of him [Lloyd Birkby] my daughter is no longer here.

"She was a beautiful person but at the end of the day he's not only robbed Levi of her life, but her children's lives too.

"I feel like this is not justice - justice has not been done in my opinion.

"Since the incident it's been hard, but I've had to stay strong and be OK for Levi's children."

The court heard how Stephen Wood QC, mitigating, described Birkby as being immature.

He had been assessed by a doctor as having a mental age of an 11-year-old.

Mr Wood said Birkby had expressed remorse for what he had done.

Clare Ogden said: "If he has the mind of a child but the body of a man, then I feel no one is safe.

"It's not fair and it doesn't make sense."
