Hannah Cockroft, Steve Bate, Karen Darke and Harry Brown flew the flag for our part of the world in Rio and returned home earlier in the week with a haul of medals.

Calderdale Council’s leader Tim Swift said: “The performances of all the athletes at the Paralympics in Rio have been truly inspirational and I’m really proud that four medallists at the games are from Calderdale.

“It has been great being able to cheer them on and celebrate their success.

“We want to honour the achievements of our medallists and we are planning an event in Calderdale to welcome them home. We will be letting people know further details very soon.”
