First birthday BASH for charity

The committee of Brighouse and Surrounding Homeless local businesses, residents and bestselling Yorkshire crime authors and TV consultants for Happy Valley Bob and Carol Bridgestock who are also patrons for the charity.

Lidia Shinwell, who is heading the events committee is preparing their first charity ball at the Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top.

“I am very excited to be working with this extremely talented, caring and compassionate group of individuals. With their combined experience and connections are going to make this a really fantastic night.”

The aim of the event in October 1 is to raise funds and awareness for the newly formed Brighouse based charity as well as being a celebration for their first birthday.

Founded in 2014 by Alison Mitchell, BASH Local is a small but steadily growing registered charity that supports the homeless and vulnerable of Brighouse and the surrounding area.

BASH Local provides a weekly food bank ran from the charities HQ in Brighouse, outreach services connecting those in need with the charities and services they may not have otherwise known about whilst offering clothing and friendly faces.

Alison Mitchell CEO of BASH Local said “There are some fantastic charities out there that can help anyone suffering from homelessness, domestic violence, starvation etc. but would you know who these organisations were if you were presented with someone who fitted this description? BASH Local does.”

All the hard work from the BASH Local team over the past twelve months is unmistakably paying off as they have been shortlisted for the Charitable Business Award at the Yorkshire Choice Awards 2016 this April.
