Food poisoning scare over raw meat in health store's salads

A health food store has recalled its chicken salads and sandwiches - over fears they contain raw meat.

Whole Foods Market have taken its products off their shelves because consumers could get food poisoning salmonella from the undercooked meat.

Its Yummy Mum’s Chicken Salad deli pot, Yummy Mum’s Chicken Salad sandwich on granary bread, a chicken salad on Turkish flat bread and a picnic mezze set have been recalled.

The firm boasts on its website it uses the “finest natural and organic foods available, maintain the strictest quality standards in the industry, and have an unshakeable commitment to sustainable agriculture. “

But it has warned shoppers not to use the products and has offered a full refund to any customer who has brought the products.

A spokesperson for Whole Foods Market said: “We have identified the Mum’s chicken Salad products have been contaminated with a small amount of undercooked chicken.

“If you have purchased these items please do not consume the product and return to the store for a full refund.

“We apologise for any inconvenience.”
