Further arrests made amid fears of looting in flood-hit towns

Two further arrests have been made amid fears of looting in flood-hit towns in the Calder Valley.

Akram Ali, 40, of Robin Hood Road, Huddersfield, was arrested yesterday morning on suspicion of theft of items belong to flood victims.

Mr Ali has been charged and will appear at Calderdale Magistrates’ Court on February 4.

Calderdale Valleys Police said two men from the Bradford area, aged 24 and 26, were also arrested for similar offences.

They have been bailed so further enquiries can be made into items recovered from the vehicle they were travelling in.
