Garden centre is top of the pots on 150th birthday
Kershaw’s Garden Centre - one of the oldest in the UK – marked the milestone occasion with a weekend of celebratory activities at its base on Halifax Road, Brighouse.
Business was blooming as firms in the shopping village joined in the festivities.

Liz Kenny, retail manager at Kershaw’s Garden Centre, said: “It’s a fantastic achievement to reach 150 years.
“The weekend went really well. Everybody on the site got involved and there were lots of people here.”
Among the highlights was a specially commissioned cake made by Maria Webster, of Brighouse, and a unique makeover for the garden centre’s mascot, Oggie the dinosaur.
Proceeds from the donkey rides will be donated to Overgate Hospice.
