Fire crews were called to a building blaze off Washer Lane in Halifax

WYFRS confirmed that its control room received a call at 1.15pm

Six fire engines were called to the scene from across the region plus two aerial ladder platforms, one each from Bradford and Leeds fire stations

A spokesperson for WYFRS said: “Residents in the area are advised to keep doors & windows closed.

“Crews are now damping down, with two fire engines left in attendance. We’ll likely be on scene for some time. Thanks to local residents for their patience and our partners at West Yorkshire Police and Calderdale Council.”
