Firefighters have been tackling a building fire in Halifax which is causing smoke to pour into the sky

Firefighters are currently in attendance at a fire in a building off Washer Lane in Halifax

This video sent into us by Tim Ingram show the smoke from the blaze.

WYFRS confirmed that its control room received a call at 1.15pm

Six fire engines were called to the scene from across the region plus two aerial ladder platforms, one each from Bradford and Leeds fire stations

Darcey Hey lane is currently closed for access from Rochdale Road in relation to the ongoing fire.

A spokesperson for WYFRS said: "Residents in the area are advised to keep doors & windows closed.

"Crews are now damping down, with two fire engines left in attendance. We'll likely be on scene for some time. Thanks to local residents for their patience and our partners at West Yorkshire Police and Calderdale Council."
