Halifax resident could bag dream job

Launched on January 25, the vacancy attracted hundreds of applications from hopefuls across the country, including Stuart Mapplebeck who works in hospitality in Halifax. Ensuring his guests sleep soundly is a major part of Stuart’s job and this is something he’s passionate about.

The role – which is for an initial three-month period – will involve testing Sealy’s new range of beds, pillows and duvets for 2016, as well as trialling a number of sleep experiences including testing sleep-aids and snooze-enhancing diets and lifestyles.

Stuart said: “I’m really excited to have been shortlisted for the Sleep Ambassador role. It is no secret that getting eight hours’ sleep has an array of benefits, and this all starts with a great bed.

”You should be able to go to bed every night with the assurance you can rely on your bed to provide much needed comfort. If you work in a hospitality context, you have to understand your guests’ comfort, only then can you really understand how to champion them.”

The final decision will be made by Sealy and will be announced in the coming weeks.
