Helen marks her milestone date in style
Helen Berry celebrated her 100th birthday on Wednesday, July 8, with a party at her sheltered accomodation, Ward Court, Rastrick.
Helen’s son-in-law, Keith Bond, 78, said: “All the residents and family came to her party, it was a beautiful day and everyone enjoyed it.”

Hide AdHelen was born in Rastrick and attended Carr Green School before leaving at the age of 14 to begin work.
She worked at a number of mills across the area, including Clay Mills, Rastrick, Spout Mill and Kagons Mill.
Helen was married in 1938 to Fred Berry at Rastrick Methodist Chapel and the pair made their home at New Hey Road, Rastrick.
They began a family and went on to have two girls - Elaine, 72, and Patricia, 74.

Hide AdShe is also a grandmother of four and great grandmother of 10.
Helen is a big fan of sports and enjoys watching tennis, snooker and darts.
Over the years, she also loved to go on holiday and enjoyed travelling to Tunisia, Turkey and Yugoslavia.
