Hospice’s plea to ‘drink it or donate it’

Overgate Hospice is asking the people of Calderdale to ‘drink it or donate it’ in their latest appeal to help raise funds.

“If you have a bottle of wine, or a bottle of whisky that’s been sat at the back of the cupboard for years,” says Laura Golding, Fundraising and Retail Manager at the hospice. “Donate it to the hospice where we can use it as a raffle prize, in a hamper or auction it at one of our events; they will all make money for the hospice.”

The Hospice, which provides care for adults from Calderdale with life threatening illnesses, has to raise over £2.2million each year to keep their services going.

“We have got a lot of events that are happening over the next few months and we are in need of prizes to raffle as we are running very low.”
