That is the message police on the 21st anniversary of the murdered school girl’s disapperance. The 13-year-old left home on Monday, November 7, 1994, to buy cornflakes from the local supermarket and never returned.

Five months later, on Wednesday April 12, 1995, her body was recovered from the Rochdale Canal, approximately one mile upstream from Hebden Bridge town centre.

Detective Superintendent Simon Atkinson from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team is leading the investigation. He said: “We did a massive round of publicity on the anniversary of Lindsay’s disappearance last year that helped generate some important leads which we are continuing to investigate.I still believe that the key to finding Lindsay’s killer lies within the Hebden Bridge community.

“There may still be people who have not yet come forward, and I would urge then to do so. Someone somewhere knows what happened to Lindsay and I am appealing again, directly, to that person to come forward and help me crack the case. “Lindsay’s family have had to live with the pain and the hurt of not knowing what happened to her as her killer continues to enjoy their liberty.

“Someone prepared to do this doesn’t deserve any protection. It’s time they were brought to justice.”
