The team were called to remote woodland near Badger Lane where the biker had lost control of his vehicle while riding down a sloped bank, causing the bike to rest on top of him.

An Ambulance Rapid Response vehicle and a paramedic arrived at the scene and immobilised the patients spine and administered pain relief.

When at the scene, CVSRT members placed the casualty into a vacuum mattress, loaded him onto a stretcher and carried him back to the path before transferring him to a waiting ambulance.

In a separate incident on Saturday, the team were called to assist the ambulance service following reports that a 47-year-old female had fallen at Chevin Forest, Otley.

It was thought the woman had sustained a lower leg fracture.

Due to the steep, densely wooded and slippery location, the team used a rope system with four ‘barrow boys’ attached to the Bell stretcher to evacuate the casualty down the hillside to the road below and the waiting ambulance.
