It is likely they will perform their major label debut single The Summer, which has also been heavily featured on Radio One’s playlist.

Spring King - the other members are guitarists Pete Darlington and Andrew Morton - release their debut album for Island, Tell Me If You Like To, on June 10 following their first headlining UK tour which starts on May 11 the day after the Later performance, which will also be repeated next Friday, May 13 (BBC2, 11.30pm).

So far the band have an amazing year, set to continue with a first live date in Australia and upcoming concert appearances at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals.

As a young rock fan, James watched Bloc Party in concert - and is now set to appear on the live show alongside them.
