Large helpings of fun for everyone

The community of Rastrick came together for a day of entertainment and fun at the second Rastrick Big Event.

Organised by the Rastrick Big Local partnership, the day saw plenty of fun for all the family with bouncy castles, fairground rides, a rodeo bull, a magician, food stalls, a raffle and much more.

In the evening, crowds were treated to some familiar tunes from Europe’s number one tribute artist Tony Lewis as Robbie Williams, plus ska band Sherman.

The community of Rastrick was awarded £1 million from the National Lottery in 2012.

The partnership organised its first Big Event last year to encourage the residents of the area to come together and to find out more about how to get involved with the project.

Rastrick Big Local Partnership has had its Big Plan evaluated by Mandy Wilson on behalf of the Local Trust and will release the first £100,000 which is scheduled for the first year of the plan’s operation.

The scheme is resident-led, meaning residents make the decisions on all aspects of the operation of the Big Local project.
