Laurel and Hardy return to Halifax big screen

They reduced young and old to tears of laughter for three decades and now they’re back on the big screen.

Famous double act Laurel and Hardy are returning to Halifax Cinema as part of a nationwide comeback.

The comic pair appeared in 106 films together between 1921 and 1952 and their monochrome, sped up slapstick routines became the stuff of cinema legend.

The comeback has been organised by National Amusements to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Stan Laurel’s birth with four of their classics being screened at the cinema.

Way Out West and Towed in The Hole will both be shown as a double bill on October 20 and 25, with The Music Box and Block-Heads featuring on November 15 and 17.
