A spokesperson from Northern Powergrid said that 57 customers have been affected by the cuts and were put on generators on Friday while work was carried out.

Generators were removed today at around 1pm in order to restore the permanent supply.

But Northern Powergrid said that further work is required to ensure the fault is fixed and customers will be notified by post when this will be undertaken.
