Man assaulted outside Huddersfield pub

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after an 18-year-old man was assaulted in Huddersfield in the early hours of Saturday, May 17.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to two people at the taxi office in Station Street who went to the assistance of the victim.

The incident occurred outside the Victoria Park pub in Station Street between 3am and 3.30am after the victim was assaulted by a male, and then assaulted again by another man.

The first suspect is described as a young white male, of stocky build, with shaved hair and wearing dark clothing.

The other suspect is also described as a young white male, of stocky build and average height with a short back and sides, hair style. He was wearing a tracksuit type top that was darker at the bottom.

The 18-year-old was left with extensive bruising and swelling as a result of the incident.

PC Natalie Bailey, of the Kirklees Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who saw this incident or who has any information about those involved. The victim was assisted by two people and we would ask them to also come forward.

“Anyone with information is asked to call the Kirklees Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
