Fire crews in Calderdale were called to a domestic property blaze after reports of a person trapped in the fire.

Firefighters were called to Oxford Street in Todmorden at 10.50pm yesterday (Thursday).

One hose and two breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire in the flat.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said that no person was found in the property.

However one man aged 40 suffered smoke inhalation and was placed in the care of ambulance crews.

Appliances from Todmorden and Mytholmroyd attended along with Littleborough from Greater Manchester FRS.
