Met Office issue weather warning for strong winds

The Met Office has issued a weather waning for strong winds throughout today (Sunday).

The Yellow “be aware” warning for Yorkshire and the Humber is valid until 11.45pm this evening.

A Met Office spokesperson said: “Strong winds are expected Sunday and overnight into Monday morning, bringing some large waves to coastal areas. “In addition, there will be rain or frequent showers, leading to wet conditions over northern Scotland in particular.

“The public should be aware of possible minor disruption, particularly to transport and of the risks to those engaged in outdoor activities.”
