Moorland fire in Todmorden

Four appliances from Todmorden, Mytholmroyd, Elland and Bacup in Lancashire as well as the wildfire unit from Todmorden have been called to tackle the blaze at Heald Top Farm, Sharney Ford, Bacup Road.

The crews were called at 12.42pm this afternoon (Tuesday) to fight the 1 kilometre square fire. They used argo beaters and backpacks.

The firefighters were tackling the fire for four hours.
