New training academy to aid expansion

Halifax based Polyframe is embarking on the most ambitious expansion plans in its 22-year history with the creation of 300 jobs.

The windows and door company will be opening a fifth factory on Hopwood Lane, 200 yards away from its current base on Gibbet Street, and once the site is fully operational Polyframe will employ 500 personnel in Halifax.

Chris Watson, Polyframe group managing director, said: “If we continue to grow at our present rate the current Gibbet Street factory would be running close to capacity by the end of the year.

“For the company to continue to grow and introduce new products to the market the need for a second Halifax factory was essential.”

The investment has been further increased with a grant from the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership’s Business Growth programme which is supported by the government’s Regional Growth Fund.

Established in 1992 the company has become a major UK manufacturer.
