New Year’s Honours List: School’s chair of governors awarded MBE
The chair of governors of a Halifax school has been recognised in the New Year’s Honours List.
David Peck, of Brighouse, is chairman of governers at Ravenscliffe High School and Sports College, Skircoat Green, and has been awarded the MBE for services to education.
Ravenscliffe is Calderdale’s only secondary special school and a great emphasis is placed on students becoming involved in the local community and developing independence skills.
In total, about 10 per cent of honours have been awarded for work in education.
