Letter: Hope Mytholmroyd regains its cosiness

This is just my personal opinion and in no way am I complaining or moaning because I'm aware how important it is to protect our beautiful village of Mytholmroyd from future flooding but after walking around the village this afternoon and noticing all the trees that have been cut down it's saddened me about our village's appearance and it's becoming very apparent just how scruffy and mismatched the village is.

I know this has to be done for the sake of the future of the village but these trees masked and hid the village in a way that some of the newer buildings were not as prominent and some of the neglected buildings weren’t either.

It’s losing its cosiness but I suppose this is called progress.

I just hope that they replace the cut down trees with ones that blend in and in time regains its cosiness.
