Boost for young soccer stars

Clifton Rangers U11A football team has received a £1,000 sponsorship boost thanks to its coach and parents.

Coach Ryan Brown, who works for Yorkshire Bank, applied for an employee grant of £500. The scheme rewards employees who help out in their community and he was selected for the effort and dedication that he puts into the club.

This money has purchased new training kits for the U11 team and coaches.

JJ Construction, of Brighouse, which is owned by parent John Chapman, whose son Jay plays for the team, kindly donated £200. This money has purchased new waterproof jackets for all the boys.

The remaining £300 was raised by the parents through fundraising activities and bought new match day jackets and kit bags.

Mr Brown said: “Our coach and parents are fantastic and continually support the team but it is overwhelming that they have gone that ‘extra mile’ and given the boys this massive financial boost.”
