"After all the awful flooding we’ve had recently, something so fun and colourful was exactly what Hebden Bridge needed. I’ve had so many lovely comments from people saying it was great for local families and how it brought a smile to people’s faces."

Dancer and Hebden Bridge resident May Molteno said: "In face of this unfolding catastrophe I can feel so powerless. This made all my family feel alive, joyful and powerful. Taking action gives us hope."

Co-ordinator Ali Bath hopes the flashmob will encourage more people to get involved with Exctinction Rebellion Calderdale.

"We are trying to save ourselves from a catastrophic climate and ecological crisis, and you and your funky moves are part of the solution.

In the future, the group hopes to bring the dance to more towns in West Yorkshire.
