"Charities rely on contributions via collection boxes this cash has to be taken into a branch this will cause great difficulty for charities.

"Parking near to branches in larger towns will prove to very difficult. Business will also be hit badly. Elland has been destroyed a lot of this must be attributed to having no banks."

Johanna Hall:"People still need banks, not everything can be done electronically. I am living overseas and have banked with Barclays since I the 80s.

"I still need certain verification for cards that can only be done in a branch. Why must I then travel to a major city to do this if my branch closes?"

Kathryn Shaw: "Not everyone does online banking some enjoy going to the bank and actually speaking to a human being it's getting to be all about profit, what would happen if people stopped using the banks."

Helen Sunter: "Yet another bad move for local towns."

Dawn Archibald: "Really why? There will be no banks soon, what are the elderly supposed to do?"
