Rastrick Slimming World member reaches goal in lockdown
Alex Bradbury Kuleczko joined Slimming World back in June 2019 shortly after her 10 year wedding anniversary.
“After having a lovely weekend away, I got back and looked at the photos and just thought ‘oh my god, I look massive,” she said.

“But no matter what I always put the weight back on because they just weren’t sustainable and made me feel miserable.”
After having her children Alex was her largest at a size 18 and started the 5:2 diet, eating normally for five days and ‘starving’ herself for two. Although she got down to a size 14-16 she was grumpy, tired and had enough.
“My friend had been doing Slimming World for a while by this point and had lost four stone and I felt so inspired I knew I had to give it a go,” Alex explained.

“When lockdown hit this March I was so close to my target and I knew I didn’t want to let all my hard work go to waste.
“Thank goodness Sarah brought virtual classes to us because I did put weight on in the first couple of weeks due to emotional eating and drinking, but I just felt rubbish and tired all the time.
“I didn’t want the weight to slowly creep back on as I really like the person I see in the mirror in my new size 10 clothes.
"So, I stuck my heels in and with the support of the virtual group I got back on plan and reached target weighing two stone 11lb less then when I started and three dress sizes smaller.”
