During the course run by Lorraine Brinnen from the Guide Dogs Association, they achieved “Community Sighted Guide” status. As part of their training, they wore glasses simulating conditions partially sighted people may experience and guided blindfolded colleagues around.

Senior Section Officer Georgina Lobb, who manages Specials in Calderdale, said “My Specials have gained some long term skills from this input which they can use within their duty as a Special Constable and also with people in their daily lives.”
